Hi Mike, I got some great stuff to show you just go to facebook and enter in the search box Kerntools , then click on my wall, you will see some great video, I personally like the vinyl siding cutter, I would be willing to partner up with some one who is willing to pay initial tooling cost, I already have most of the equipment and about one third of the tooling needed plus price quotes on that, that I don't have, this project is getting close just need a little cash to finish up! check it out and let me know what you think!

Thanks Mike,

Looks like a good idea to have a place for builders inventions! I have met loads of inventive types over the years. Mostly it is just someone cobbling together something to make their life easier, without thinking about the fact that others might be struggling with same.

I myself have kept a little book of 'daft ideas' detailing various 'solutions' to problems I encounter. One by one I have seen other peoples solutions, similar to my ideas come on to the market, proving that the ideas process was sound. Just that the execution bit was pants!

I think that the whole process is difficult, having the idea is the easy bit! I like the idea of licencing but really what is the incentive for a big manufacturer to get involved with a little guy? They can simply say, sorry mate, already working on it or sorry, not for us. Then lo and behold a few years later there the product is! Who can prove where the idea came from and who could fight a big guy anyway?

I am just so wary of the online 'ideas submission' forms from the big guys, stamped with "non confidential information", what exactly does that mean? You submit and idea and then they can do or say whatever they want about it? Seems very one sided to me. I'll wait until I have my patent (fingers crossed).

I wish that the patent process had levels. I.e a quick section for inventions with no moving parts for example. Loads of tools would then fall into this 'express' patent application category. I am 3/4 of the way through mine and its taken 3 years so far.

Coo, turned into a rant, sorry Mike :-)

See you around soon,

Good luck with the guilds Mike, big job!

Hope the trade is better than it is in the UK at the moment, I have recently moved to Norway (other half is Norwegian) but the trade is dominated by 'too cheap to live' Eastern Europeans.

Stay well

Hi Mike ...yeah the Square 'N Tape is available. has it on there website search word SQUARE 'N TAPE. It's 5.95 for the square 'n tape accessory that can be installed on most all of your favorite 16' and 25' tapes, or you can buy it already installed on a fastcap ps-25 tape measure which is a nice tape for 14.95! Paul Akers, the owner of fastcap is a great guy to work with. The square 'n tape is only part of my patent that he wanted to bring to market . Hopefully when this is a home run we will bring the rest!

Thanks for the website to bring info out on my product!

Hi Mike,

Sorry for the late reply but I was traveling last week. I had a very positive visit at Pep Boys last week in Philly. They really liked my Tag Along Dolly but they gave me some homework to do first. I really like your idea for marketing new inventions directly to contractors. Organizing regional groups of contractors would be a good first step. However you should know that I am not a contractor, I am the extreme DIYer and as such many contractors do not like my type. As you can see from my products I invent things that encourage the DIY mind set.

Thank  you  Mike.I.m    thankful  to  be  accepted.  The  inventor  process  is  long  and  expensive.I have  visited  several  inventor  sites. This  site  seems  to  have  more  for  the  inventor  than  any  of  the  others.Glad  to  be  here!

Hey Bryan,

I set this up as a place for people to meet.  Mostly I'm hands-off,because I'm very busy with my other projects. I hoe that it is useful to the members.  Inventing is fun.  Marketing is...well, it's very challenging.

hello mike

you will have to bear with me, as i am new to this. I am retired from building, but over the years I've had many ideas that have saved me some time and made the job a bit easier. I am not conversant with building in The States but I think some of your house plans would be very popular here in Australia.I have recently received a book of 700+ house plans from the U.S. I buried my head in it for days.As i have been extremely ill I was forced into retirement and this is the full extent of my capabilities.I am not even sure how I go about posting this information. I just noticed that I probably should have put the time and date on here. I,m afraid to go back to the start as I may lose my previous writing. It is 12.30 pm on friday 25 may .2012.  I'll end for the time being and hope this reaches you.
